Biocompatibility
TRL 4 – FLEXIBLE CALCIUM PHOSPHATES ON NITINOL, TITANIUM, STAINLESS STEEL, CoCr
ENBIO began life in the medical device industry and continues to offer biocompatible Skins with many significant advantages over competing coating technologies.
Lubrication / Wear resistance
ONE-STEP DEPOSITION OF FLUOROPOLYMER
CoBlast Skins have achieved a coefficient of friction below 0.15, as measured by the pin-on-disk method. These coatings exhibit significantly reduced wear compared to the untreated substrate.
Hydrophobicity
ONE-STEP DEPOSITION OF FLUOROPOLYMER
ENBIO offers robust hydrophobic coatings with water contact angles between 130 and 140º. Superhydrophobic CoBlast Skins in development have reached water contact angles of 150° and hysteresis <10° and are relatively robust compared to many available superhydrophobic coatings.
