The latest OSMOSIS results were presented at the International Symposium on Materials in the Space Environment (ISMSE) in Biarrtiz in October 2018.
A poster and paper were prepared to demonstrate the adhesion results achieved on lap-shear and honeycomb panels. OSMOSIS, a chrome-free adhesive primer treatment, was compared against conventional aerospace chrome based primer treatments. As presented in the paper, the OSMOSIS surface is compatible with both 2-part and film adhesive systems.
It has also shown to be compatible with both titanium and aluminium substrates. Successful mixed metal joint tests were also carried out (Grade 5 titanium and 6000 series aluminium), demonstrating the suitability on different aluminium grades.
